Adept gives your company centralized access to your most important drawings and documents in a secure, collaborative environment that saves time and reduces risk. It's available in any combination of four license types, each designed to fit different end-user requirements. Adept is available in named user licenses, concurrent user licenses, or a combination of both.

Adept PublishWave is an Adept add-on that enables automated or on-demand PDF or TIF publishing from within Adept. You get version-correct, high quality output without tying up your workstation. On-demand publishing can be done in single or batch mode. Automated publishing can be triggered upon Sign-In or Final Approve in Adept. Format support includes AutoCAD, MicroStation, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, Word and Excel.

Adept Integrator is an out-of-the-box integration platform that connects your enterprise applications so that you can orchestrate data flows and business processes that support your business goals. Integration is easy, fast, and code-free. Integrator offers a comprehensive, out-of-the-box library of certified connectors, including SharePoint, SAP, Maximo, ESRI, and others, and if one does not exist, we can build one for you.

The Add-On ensures each document has a clear record of approval signature and date at every step of a workflow. Approval signatures are tracked on the document's Data Card and can be automatically pushed to the document itself through mapped properties. Approval steps require password authentication from the approved. The Add-On can be configured for use with any Adept workflow.

Each Adept Library has a default workflow defined by the Administrator. This Add-On gives the user an option to select and initiate other workflows upon document check in, based on the options configured by the Administrator. The workflow assignment is recorded in Adept's Audit Trail and Workflow tab in the Document Dashboard.

The Adept Check In/Out ensures there is one master document and saves all previous versions with the same file name. Adept does not create uncontrolled duplicates or renamed versions. For all the documents created prior to Adept, however, there are often duplicates and renamed versions. It's difficult for anyone to confidently find the right document version, which leads to wasted time and expensive mistakes. This Add-On allows an organization to easily combine duplicates and renamed versions into one document set with a single file name and a proper version history. The user can review the relevant documents and reorder them up or down to stack the versions properly. Users everywhere will always find the latest version and will have access to the complete version history.

  • How does named user licensing work?

    Each user you add to the system is assigned a license. The license is bound to that user. The user will always have access to their license when they need it. The user may access their license from up to three computers or devices, but only from one at a time.

  • How does concurrent user licensing work?

    Any number of users may be added to the Adept system, and the users share a pool of licenses. Once all the licenses are in use, additional users cannot log in until another user logs out.

  • Can I purchase a mix of concurrent licenses and named licenses?

    Yes, Adept is available in named user licenses, concurrent user licenses, or a combination of both. 

  • Does Adept have different licenses for different types of users?

    Adept is available in four license types – Adept Explorer, Adept Reviewer, Adept Creator and Adept Desktop. Each license is designed to fit different end-user requirements. You can mix and match according to the needs of your user community.

  • Is Adept easy to implement?

  • What is Adept PublishWave?

    Adept PublishWave is an add-on to Adept that enables automated or on-demand PDF or TIF publishing from within the Adept application. You get version-correct, high fidelity output quality – without having to open the file in its native application.

    Automated PDF publishing can be triggered upon Sign-In or Final Approve in Adept. On-demand publishing can be done in single or batch mode.

    Formats that can be published include AutoCAD, MicroStation, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, Word and Excel.

  • What workstation or server does PublishWave use to process publishing requests?

    In order to free up a user’s workstation so they remain productive during time-consuming PDF printing jobs, PublishWave sends publishing and printing requests to a separate PublishWave workstation. This workstation does not have to be dedicated only to PublishWave, however, it must be on the network, and should be located in the same geographic location as the user to optimize performance and minimize network traffic.

  • What are the system requirements for PublishWave?

  • Can I use PublishWave without Adept? For example, can I use it with Windows Explorer?

    No, PublishWave works synergistically with Adept and is an add-on product. PublishWave leverages the easily accessible, version-correct documents managed and controlled by Adept. Its automated PDF publishing capability can be triggered upon Adept Check In or Final Approve.

  • Does PublishWave use the native application to publish high quality PDFs?

    Yes, publishing uses the native application to ensure high fidelity output you can rely on. The PublishWave workstation requires access to a license of the native application software that you wish to publish from. Supported applications include AutoCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Inventor, Word and Excel.

  • What is Adept Integrator?

    Adept Integrator is an out-of-the-box integration platform that connects your enterprise business systems to each other, so that you can orchestrate data flows and business processes that support your business goals. Integration is easy, fast, and code-free.

  • Is Adept document management software required to use Adept Integrator?

    No, Adept Integrator allows you to integrate any business system with any other business system. Adept Integrator does include the Adept Connector and any other Connector of your choice, however you can add additional Connectors as needed.

  • Is it possible to configure and maintain our own integrations?

    Yes, you can configure and maintain your own integrations with the purchase of Adept Integrator Studio and the associated training. Integrator Studio is the same tool we use to build Connectors and configure integrations for customers.
