Implementation and Batch Document Loading

Create Order from Chaos

In about a week or two, our experts bring years of unorganized islands of documents and information into an organized central repository that enables fast, easy, controlled access. All aspects of the Adept implementation are completed during this on-site visit so your system is fully functional and delivering real world benefits to your organization and user community when we leave.

During our time on-site, we accomplish the following key tasks:

  • System installation
  • Database configuration
  • Vault configuration
  • Workflow automation configuration
  • Batch document loading
  • CAD and Office property/attribute linking
  • User and Group access rights
  • User training
  • Administrator mentoring

Since most clients have tens or hundreds of thousands of documents to import, loading existing documents into Adept is a critical aspect of the implementation. Adept’s Synchronize utility scans all the folders across your global network you want Adept to manage and creates a one-to-one relationship between each file on the server and a corresponding Adept database record. In just a matter of minutes, your legacy files are being managed by Adept.

During this same process, the Adept database is populated with metadata extracted from Autodesk, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and MicroStation files. This bi-directional attribute/ property link ensures relevant, accurate information is in the database to search and report against, and eliminates manual and programmatic data entry.

At the same time, the batch import utility analyzes Autodesk and SolidWorks files to determine the relationship of each file to its referenced files. This relationship information is automatically stored in the database and “where-used” or “composed-of” information can be viewed and managed from within Adept.
